We are unable to remove an incorrect version of Citrix XenApp Weg Plugin that was downloaded last week. It states 'preparing to remove', then another window comes up to say 'Please wait while Windows configures Citrix XenApp Weg Plugin', then a third window comes up that states 'Your client installation cannot continue. The installer detects that a client already exists on your device that can be modified only by an administrator.
To upgrade that client contact your administrator'. It appears after first stating it is about to remove the program, that it then tries to run the program.
We have not had any problems uninstalling other programs, and should be the administrators of this computer, as we have been the only owners.
My fix is to reinstall firefox with the 20.0.1 version. When firefox is rolling out its auto updates and 'fast updates cycle' to compete with chrome, I always worry about one day ff may break something and hit into a wall.
Now the whole office was complaining unable to access and come to a halt. IE is a temporary fix, it has its other problem though, but I dont want to push users to use IE for any reason. FF 20 seems to be the best solution yet, and I also turn off auto-updates in Tools-options. But when FF 20 starts, it keeps telling you its old, out-dated, annoying. And worst of all, if you click on Help-about, it WILL download v22 anyway. And for the next start, it will ask you to update.

Totally ruin the idea of DO NOT CHECK FOR UPDATES. I guess I'll stay in this not-so-friendly state until someone find a better solution.
PS I was happy to see the 'Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.0' solution, but if its PAINFULLY slow, I stay away from it as the computers in my office is rather dated. That means that Firefox finds it. Cate blanchett notes on a scandal. If this plugin shows as enabled then it should be working. You can try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
See Re-initializing the plugins database:.You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:.Help Troubleshooting Information Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder). I have the same problem. With Firefox 21 it doesn't work but if = about:config = plugins.loadappdirplugins being set to true = it's ok With Firefox 22 it doesn't work = plugins.loadappdirplugins being set to true it doesn't work = Re-initializing the plugins database it doesn't work Install the latest version of the 'Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.0' plugin but it works in the case of a company with many affected (personal or corporate) computers is not a solution. Thank of fix this problem. I have the same problem.

I was able to fix or at least workaround this by disabling the Citrix ICA Client 12.X plugin in Firefox (or uninstall if you have the patience). After that, you may be prompted to reinstall the Windows ICA client which seems to be working fine for me now.
However, since I don't control the clients that connect to my Citrix Environment, this is only useable if someone really has to have FF 22. FF20 is as high as I want to support from an IT perspective as it works without any reconfigurations. Hope this helps for those that don't want to run receiver. Hope this helps for those that don't want to run receiver. Nothing worked for me except to downgrade to Firefox 17 as a test. 20 wouldn't work.
Citrix Receiver 4.0 isn't a recommended solution, although it might work, it will break other things, like the Citrix Access Gateway VPN client that is slightly older and other things. I just download and installed version 17 build, it will install right over top of the current 22 version. Then, disable auto updating of Firefox in the Options/Advanced settings Update tab. All is back to working fine again with the CitrixOnlineWebPlugin of old. 12.3.0.8 Citrix client web plugin launches fine now. Nothing worked for me except to downgrade to Firefox 17 as a test.
